TruePoint Laser Scanning was hired by a medical practice to capture as-built conditions and high-definition photos of a newly constructed 3,500 sq ft office. The client needed a detailed, colorized 3D dataset that was more comprehensive than their 2D CAD drawings for facility management and future planning, along with crisp imagery suitable for marketing purposes.

TruePoint used a hybrid scanning approach, capturing the building exterior with a terrestrial laser scanner and the interior with the NavVis VLX wearable mobile mapping system. The NavVis VLX enabled the team to scan the entire interior in just 30 minutes and manually snap over 40 HD photos during the walkthrough, cutting their total on-site time by 50%. Using NavVis IVION Core, they delivered a single, highly accurate point cloud and imagery that the client could access remotely from any device.
