Crew-B uses NavVis VLX to scan multiple sites in a single day

Crew-B, a provider of BIM and reality capture services, faced the challenge of scanning hundreds of European gyms for a major fitness chain. They needed a rapid and accurate method to capture large indoor spaces without GNSS signals to create detailed BIM models, as traditional methods were too slow and handheld scanners lacked the required accuracy. They adopted the NavVis VLX wearable mobile mapping system to address this.

The implementation of NavVis VLX allowed Crew-B to scan sites at the speed of walking, with features like dynamic object removal providing clean data even in operational gyms. Using the NavVis IVION platform with its Cloud Processing Add-on further streamlined their workflow. This solution enabled the team to scan up to six locations in a single day and approximately 45,000 m² per month, making their process at least three times faster and delivering higher quality, more accurate BIM models to their client.
