Leicester College saves 264 hours by moving to a digital food safety system

Leicester College, one of the largest colleges in the UK serving over 20,000 students and 1,500 staff across three campuses, was burdened by time-consuming, paper-based food safety checks that left their Commercial Catering Services Manager constantly travelling between sites. They engaged Navitas Safety and adopted Navitas Safety’s Digital Food Safety platform (including automated temperature recording and the Navitas Safety Smartprobe) to replace manual processes.

Navitas Safety implemented a central software database with automated fridge/freezer monitoring and rapid digital temperature checks, cutting administration and paper costs. As a result, Leicester College now saves 5.5 hours a week—264 hours a year—gains total visibility and more accurate readings, and has been able to redeploy staff time into improved customer service.
