A Navisite Case Study
Snap Interactive, the developer behind popular dating apps FirstMet.com and The Grade, scaled rapidly to millions of users and outgrew its original hosting model. After moving from leased to owned servers — and relocating following Hurricane Sandy — SNAP faced slow outage response times, rising colocation bills and the need for better security, control and proximity to its infrastructure.
SNAP moved 130 servers into Navisite colocation integrated with Spectrum Enterprise services (including 200 Mbps FIA to the data center and a 100 Mbps backup circuit), gaining a closer, PCI‑compliant facility with redundant power and dedicated fiber connectivity. The change gave SNAP greater control over hardware and drivers, cut monthly colocation connectivity costs by about 50%, reduced outage resolution from hours to minutes, and improved reliability, security and scalability.
