Navisite, a managed cloud services provider with deep experience migrating Oracle workloads to AWS, partnered with Warner Music Group (WMG) when the company needed to modernize IT and vacate its Burbank data center on a tight timeline. Many critical systems—artist royalty, financial and ERP applications—ran on Oracle databases and Solaris, requiring refactoring rather than a simple lift-and-shift.
Navisite delivered a TCO assessment, a tailored migration and disaster-recovery plan, and a prioritized refactor-and-migrate strategy for distributed applications. The team moved more than 110 application and database servers to AWS ahead of the deadline, enabling improved efficiencies, security and IT management, and prompting WMG to pursue additional cloud projects.
