Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, founded in 1983 and now operating 200 locations with more than 3,250 employees, needed better insight into workplace risks and employee concerns. Their existing hotline met federal whistleblower requirements but was used mainly for major ethical issues, so the Director of Internal Audit sought a way to turn it into a broader restaurant-wide communication tool to surface employment, safety, and potential financial misconduct concerns.
By expanding use of NAVEX Global’s EthicsPoint case management and promoting the hotline as an employee feedback channel, Rubio’s centralized and structured its reporting process. People Services and Internal Audit now document issues, follow-ups and resolutions in a single database, leading to faster, more efficient investigations, increased reporting, greater transparency and employee confidence, and better visibility for future risk analysis.
