EnerSys ESG Program will Automate Resource Footprint Calculations

EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions with roughly 11,000 employees and operations across more than 100 countries, committed to accelerating its ESG program but lacked a reliable baseline greenhouse‑gas footprint across its 173 locations. Manual processes and standard PC software could not deliver the consistent, auditable site-level consumption data needed for reporting, benchmarking, and improvement planning.

EnerSys selected NAVEX ESG to automate end‑to‑end utility data acquisition and GHG calculations for 28 global sites—covering more than 90% of its Scope 1 and 2 emissions—pulling electricity, gas and water usage from utility records and calculating emissions to EPA and UN standards. The automation reduced manual errors, improved auditability and alignment with standards (SASB, GRI, TCFD, UN SDGs), and enabled clearer KPI disclosure, with plans to expand to Scope 3, add waste data and apply machine learning to estimate emissions for sites without bills.
