Nautilus Labs implemented its DSO tool, which uses machine learning models powered by real-time vessel data to predict fuel consumption and speed with high accuracy. The solution provided dynamic RPM or speed instructions designed to maximize a vessel's Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) profit. The results were significant; on one voyage, the tool identified a strategy that saved 10 metric tons of fuel. On another transatlantic voyage, Nautilus Labs' solution increased the daily TCE rate by $250, generating an additional $8,225 in profit for that single trip by optimizing speed to get the vessel back into the spot market faster.
