The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) is a grassroots organization that activates emerging leaders through local chapters across the U.S. As YNPN scaled—from 18 chapters in 2011 to 50 chapters by 2016 and more than 50,000 members—they faced infrastructure and capacity challenges in supporting national and local work, connecting chapters, and understanding member activity. NationBuilder provided a centralized platform—with tools like Paths, virtual currency, tags/synched tags, designations, event pages, and custom fields—that automated outreach, tracked member actions, and supported onboarding and chapter creation. By using NationBuilder, YNPN can now identify and recognize active chapters and members, manage follow-up at scale, and sustain rapid growth; the platform helped them better track engagement across 50 chapters and 50,000+ members and establish the infrastructure needed for future expansion.
