Case Study: GenUN engages 20,000 millennials in five months with NationBuilder

A NationBuilder Case Study

Preview of the GenUN Case Study

What it takes to engage 20,000 millennials in five months

GenUN, a youth engagement program of UNA-USA, faced the challenge of turning millennial interest in international issues into coordinated action and leadership on campus. To reach and mobilize young people, GenUN needed a better digital platform and data strategy—so they partnered with NationBuilder to build out a targeted website and supporter database.

Using NationBuilder, GenUN prompted newcomers to self-identify their issue interests, created personalized profiles, and used location and email tools to match supporters with tailored calls to action. The results were rapid and measurable: more than 20,000 supporters and 1,000 volunteers in five months, 28 meetings with congressional offices, and plans to grow chapters from 25 to 35—demonstrating NationBuilder’s impact on engagement and grassroots advocacy.
