A NationBuilder Case Study
Oaktree, an Australian youth-led anti-poverty organization, was struggling to convert large numbers of one-time campaign participants into ongoing volunteers and maintain momentum beyond single days of action. To address this gap, Oaktree rebuilt its site on NationBuilder and set out to create an intermediate engagement path between casual supporters and full-time volunteers.
Using NationBuilder, Oaktree launched a Community Leadership program and digital workflows to recruit, train and track local leaders; the campaign generated 868 new leaders (358 over target), representation from 199 nonmajor cities, about 10,000 petition signatures, $3,000 raised in one week, and commitments from G20 member nations—demonstrating NationBuilder’s role in turning one-time volunteers into sustained campaign leaders.
