Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA), an advocacy organization dedicated to supporting refugees in Australia, needed a more flexible system to scale its campaigns and replace a limited database. Using NationBuilder’s platform for emails, donations, petitions, events, and built-in action pages, the team wanted a way to run fundraising and community engagement efforts more efficiently without heavy manual work.

NationBuilder helped RCOA automate user-generated event submissions, launch donation pages, and deliver an autoresponse email with a cookbook download link after donations. The “Share a Meal, Share a Story” campaign raised just over $15,000 from the cookbook alone, helped RCOA triple donations year over year, generated 300+ cookbook downloads and 84+ user-generated events, and contributed to $250K raised during Refugee Week.
