NC Homeowners Alliance revamps advocacy efforts to support local homeowners

NC Homeowners Alliance, the grassroots advocacy arm of the NC Realtors Association, was struggling in late 2019 after its email program was blacklisted and engagement collapsed. They engaged NationBuilder for dedicated support—working with NationBuilder account and implementation teams and using the NationBuilder platform’s tools (database cleanup, email segmentation, surveys, paths and recruiter IDs) to diagnose and address the problem.

NationBuilder helped clean a 100,000‑member database, remove bad data, implement targeted filters and paths, and refine content and recruiter tracking. As a result, open rates climbed from about 5% to roughly 31%, the program added 490 new members, and the organization has sent 3.9 million unique emails to date, delivering measurably better targeting and sustained engagement through NationBuilder.
