FairVote makes major headway for ranked choice voting across the United States

FairVote, a long‑standing nonprofit focused on electoral reform, faced the challenge of scaling advocacy, voter education and fundraising to advance ranked choice voting (RCV) nationwide. Since 2015 they’ve used NationBuilder as their digital infrastructure, with staff like Jeremy Seitz‑Brown managing the platform to support outreach, organizing and development work during a pivotal election cycle.

Using NationBuilder’s tools for segmentation, personalized outreach and targeted mailing lists, FairVote streamlined fundraising and voter communications, helping the organization record its highest individual donations and overall revenue in a critical year for democracy. NationBuilder‑powered outreach also supported RCV education and deployment efforts that coincided with 1.4 million Americans using RCV in presidential primaries (vs. 2019), 99.8% valid ballots in newly implemented RCV areas, and adoption of RCV in two states and more than 20 cities.
