A NationBuilder Case Study
Common Sense Action, founded by Sam Gilman to engage college students in primary elections, needed a low‑resource digital hub to keep geographically dispersed supporters connected, track chapter activity, and scale nationally. To solve these challenges they turned to the NationBuilder platform to find an online platform that could support offline organizing and community building.
Using NationBuilder, CSA managed supporter profiles, tracked outreach and actions, sent personalized communications, and launched an automated leaderboard to motivate chapters. The NationBuilder solution helped register 3,513 voters, grow to 40 chapters across 20 states (plus DC), and double the new supporter growth rate within six months.
