#ChangeTheNow grows its network of changemakers

#ChangeTheNow, a movement started by Georgian College to mobilize students and educators around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, needed a way to scale engagement, track progress, and reward participants—especially after the pandemic forced the program online. The team selected NationBuilder as their digital platform to create a seamless, community-focused experience for recruiting, engaging, and evaluating changemakers.

Working with a NationBuilder-certified agency, the program launched a customizable “Student Passport” on NationBuilder in July that creates public profiles, awards badges and points, and issues unique URLs students can share on résumés or LinkedIn. The solution helped #ChangeTheNow grow its reach (13K impressions since 2019), recruit 500 new students in 2021, and generate 50 proposed solutions to SDG #10, while enabling assessment for micro-certificates and extending passports to educators and mentors.
