Case Study: Canadian Labour Congress achieves nationwide digital mobilization and 128K supporters with NationBuilder

A NationBuilder Case Study

Preview of the Canadian Labour Congress Case Study

Canadian Labour Congress created the digital infrastructure for workers nationwide

The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), a national umbrella organization representing dozens of affiliate unions, needed to build a central digital infrastructure to unite affiliates, grow its supporter database, and mobilize workers around a national Pharmacare campaign. To do this, CLC used NationBuilder to centralize data, improve messaging, and provide supporters with petitions, surveys, email and text actions that could scale across local councils and federations.

Using NationBuilder’s trackable paths, built‑in action pages and event tools, CLC launched petitions and story‑sharing pages, ran a cross‑country tour and coordinated local meetings and trainings. The campaign’s measurable impact included a first petition of ~30,000 signatures, a supporter database that grew to about 128,000 by September 2018, nearly 3,000 tour attendees, 500+ at trainings, and successful local lobbying (300 activists) that contributed to the creation of a government Pharmacare advisory council — outcomes the CLC attributes to NationBuilder.
