URSC, ISRO Improves Flexibility and Scalability of a Satellite TTC Receiver ATE While Reducing Test Times by More Than 50 Percent

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was challenged by its increasing number of satellite launches, which created a need for a more scalable and portable automatic test equipment (ATE) system for flight package evaluations across different facilities. The existing traditional system was large, difficult to relocate, and expensive to upgrade for new testing requirements.

National Instruments provided the solution using its PXI modular instruments and the LabVIEW graphical programming environment. This allowed ISRO to create a compact, software-defined tester that was easily portable and scalable. The solution reduced test times by more than 50 percent, significantly improved flexibility, and decreased the system's size and cost while maintaining high measurement accuracy.
