Texas Instruments Increases Firmware Test Platform Throughput, Coverage, and Reliability with NI Hardware and Software

Texas Instruments, Inc. faced the challenge of developing a modular and scalable automated test solution for the firmware of its hundreds of power management ICs (PMICs). The system needed to interact with numerous instruments and evaluation modules and be usable by engineers without computer science backgrounds.

National Instruments provided a solution using its NI LabVIEW software and NI TestStand to create a flexible, automated test platform. The result was a dramatic reduction in the regression test cycle time from weeks to days, a more than 100% increase in test coverage, and the near-elimination of human error, significantly improving reliability and efficiency.
