Testing Rocket Propulsion Systems with NI VeriStand

ATRX, Inc. needed to test a novel propulsion technology with a test system that was both highly capable and easy to use. The system required a short learning curve to ensure high developer productivity and to handle rapidly changing test requirements. To meet this challenge, ATRX turned to National Instruments and implemented a solution built on the NI VeriStand software platform.

National Instruments' VeriStand provided a solution with an easy-to-configure user interface and a modular architecture. This enabled ATRX to efficiently control all phases of propulsion testing, from pre-test to post-test, using real-time sequences and alarms. The adaptability of VeriStand was proven when ATRX customized their software for a completely new small thruster test stand in just two weeks. Furthermore, the system's ease of use allowed their customers to become proficient in days and modify test sequences with minimal support.
