Landis+Gyr,plc, a global company in the energy industry, faced the challenge of designing an automated testing framework to run functional tests for smart meter metrology validation. Manual testing was costly, time-consuming, and prone to error, creating a need for a more reliable and efficient system. They turned to National Instruments for a solution.

Using National Instruments' TestStand, LabVIEW, and NI-DAQmx software, Landis+Gyr created a highly flexible and scalable test automation platform. This system automated the validation of utility meters, addressing the limitations of previous methods. The implementation resulted in a 65 percent reduction in manual effort, significantly reducing test system time and cost while improving reliability.
