A National Instruments Case Study
ProNova Solutions aimed to make proton therapy for cancer treatment more widely available but faced the challenge of developing a highly accurate and precise proton beam control system to deliver a prescribed radiological dose to a specific tumor location.
National Instruments provided the solution by implementing its Single-Board RIO hardware, powered by the LabVIEW Real-Time and LabVIEW FPGA Modules. This technology enabled ProNova to create a system that delivers the proton beam with a positional accuracy within 0.5 mm and a dose accuracy within 1 percent, ensuring safe and effective treatment and helping to achieve FDA approval for their SC360 system.
