​OSL Creates Universal Automated Test System for Satellite Payload Power Supply​

The customer, Optimized Solutions Limited (OSL), faced the challenge of manually tuning and testing satellite payload DC-DC converters, a process that could take over a month. Their traditional methodology required manual result capture and was prone to human error as they tested different power-rated devices. To solve this, they partnered with vendor National Instruments.

National Instruments provided a solution built on their NI PXI Express platform and LabVIEW software to create a universal automated test system (ATS). This system could test two devices simultaneously, automate critical parametric tests, and generate standardized reports. The solution from National Instruments reduced overall test time by 10x, minimized human error, and provided consistent, automated results for the Indian space community.
