A National Instruments Case Study
Archer Aviation, an eVTOL aircraft developer, faced the challenge of accelerating the testing timeline for its Midnight™ aircraft to meet ambitious production goals. They needed to build integrated test labs and simulation environments to validate new technologies quickly, but were constrained by available time, financial resources, and human-hours. They turned to vendor National Instruments for a solution.
The solution implemented by National Instruments was based on its LRU Test System Reference Architecture, utilizing PXI and SLSC hardware platforms alongside VeriStand software. This approach allowed Archer’s team to build multiple test systems, including HIL benches, which were operational within three months. National Instruments delivered a capital cost reduction of roughly 30 percent compared to alternatives and enabled the team to meet all its early program milestones on an accelerated schedule.
