ITI Simulates and Tests Armored Off-Road Vehicles Faster Using NI Hardware-in-the-Loop Tools

ITI, a software and engineering company specializing in system simulation, faced the challenge of designing a holistic validation strategy for the embedded systems of an armored multipurpose vehicle. In cooperation with National Instruments, they needed to create a hardware-in-the-loop test bench to validate complex electronic control units more quickly and completely.

The solution from National Instruments, built using NI VeriStand software and PXI hardware, provided a high-performance and scalable real-time platform. Combined with ITI's SimulationX models and TraceTronic's ECU-TEST automation software, this HIL test bench reduced the test effort by 85 percent compared to previous methods while simultaneously achieving a significantly higher depth of testing, allowing for faster and more cost-effective vehicle development.
