A National Instruments Case Study
Cypress Semiconductor Technology, a leader in advanced embedded system solutions, faced significant time-to-market pressure. Their challenge was to drastically reduce the lengthy post-silicon characterization time for their diverse System-on-Chip (SoC) products, which was delaying product launches and risking millions in business.
To address this, National Instruments provided a solution using their PXI Source Measure Units, PXI Matrix Switch Modules, and FlexRIO modules. This technology enabled Cypress to develop the CyMatrix platform, which introduced 4X parallelism and high automation. The results were substantial, with National Instruments' solution reducing characterization time by over 60 percent, cutting the process for medium-complexity products from 10 weeks to under 4 weeks and enabling the same team to characterize five times more products per year.
