Force Plate Measurement System for Physiotherapy

A customer, EnvisEng Pty Ltd, sought to provide St Vincent’s Hospital with a system to consistently measure and analyze human balance for patient rehabilitation. The challenge was to create this specialized force plate measurement system at a much lower cost than available off-the-shelf solutions, which were prohibitively expensive and contained unneeded features.

Using National Instruments' CompactDAQ platform, a C Series module, and LabVIEW software, EnvisEng built a custom, cost-effective system. The solution from National Instruments provided the exact features and user interface required and was delivered at around half the price of comparable systems. This allowed the hospital to effectively track patient progress with a system designed for future expansion.
