Building a Satellite Navigation Test Platform Using the NI Vector Signal Transceiver

The customer, M3 Systems, sought to enter the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) automated test market with a high-performance, flexible, and cost-effective solution. Their challenge was to build a scalable test platform capable of handling the growing complexity of new satellite constellations and frequencies.

The solution from National Instruments combined their PXI Vector Signal Transceiver's FPGA and RF capabilities with the PXI Controller's CPU power and LabVIEW software to embed M3 Systems' STELLA-NGC software. This resulted in a fully configurable GNSS simulator that could manage multi-constellation and multi-frequency signals. National Instruments' technology provided the scalable, high-performance foundation that allowed M3 Systems to create an attractive, off-the-shelf product that successfully met client expectations and could be easily upgraded.
