40% Savings with Storage as a Service

JSJ Corporation is a global manufacturer with major sites in the US, China, Japan, and Mexico that designs and produces a wide range of durable goods. The company struggled with slow, unreliable multi-site file access—engineers in China and Mexico waited up to 20 minutes to open CAD drawings—rising capital and backup costs from many Windows file servers, and inconsistent backup and recovery processes across remote offices.

JSJ moved to Nasuni UniFS with Amazon S3 and deployed Nasuni edge appliances at each location, which deduplicate, compress, encrypt, and cache active files locally while storing gold copies in object storage. The change eliminated file-access delays, standardized backups and DR (reducing recovery from 24 hours to minutes), and cut file infrastructure costs by about 40% (roughly $300,000 annually) through reduced servers, backup hardware, and MPLS/WAN expenses.
