EE Limited, a major UK digital communications company, faced significant challenges with its legacy M2MConnect service hosted on AWS. The platform suffered from poor availability, performance bottlenecks, single points of failure, and security compliance issues, which presented a risk to its service levels. These problems prompted EE to turn to Nasstar for a solution to future-proof the service.

Nasstar re-architected the solution by moving to separate AWS accounts and VPCs, adopting native services like Amazon AMQ and RDS, and redeploying everything using AWS CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code. This technical refresh by Nasstar resulted in a 100% increase in throughput, eliminated downtime for maintenance, and ensured the platform met all of Amazon’s security standards, providing EE with a high-performance, highly available service.
