Developing Microsite to Promote a Coding Standard

PRQA, a software company behind the long-established HIC++ coding standard for C++ programming, needed to mark the 10th anniversary of the standard and launch an updated version. The challenge for Napier was to replace its existing codingstandard.com site with a new website that would better present the standard while balancing independence for HIC++ with familiarity for the PRQA brand.

Napier used WordPress to build a new microsite that let developers request the full coding standard as a PDF or explore it in an interactive HTML format with browsing, search, and category navigation. The results were strong: average monthly downloads increased tenfold, and traffic grew even faster as users engaged with the browsable standard.
