Counting Cars - Customer Case Study

Counting Cars worked with Nanonets to modernize parking lot studies, a process traditionally done by teams of people manually counting vehicles on the ground or reviewing drone footage by hand. Their challenge was to reduce the time, cost, and human error involved in measuring parking availability across large lots such as airports and universities.

Nanonets provided a custom car-counting model via its web API to analyze orthomosaic drone images automatically. The solution processed each image in seconds, cut the human effort from 8 people to 2, and reduced the cost of a typical parking lot study from $$$ to $. Nanonets also helped build the model in 3 days using 1,000 training images, with integration and testing completed within a week.
