Room and Board, a national furniture retailer, faced the classic showroom challenge: only about 10% of its inventory—couches, credenzas and other pieces—fits on the sales floor, making it hard for customers to discover all colors and customization options. Nanonation addressed this with direct retail kiosks: iMac stations running a locked‑down version of Room and Board’s website so shoppers could access the full line in-store.
Nanonation’s solution gave customers full visibility into product variants (for example, a couch in six additional colors or a cabinet with four finishes and six hardware options) and the ability to order the perfect piece before leaving the store. The kiosks effectively increased accessible inventory from roughly 10% to the entire catalog and enabled immediate in‑store ordering, improving product discovery and purchase conversion.
