Development of Scope Management and Requisition Tool (SMART) Software

Black & Veatch needed to streamline its scoping and bid management process, replacing Excel-based templates with a more flexible application that could support multiple project types, future template creation, bulk scope creation, role-based access, and document uploads. The customer also needed secure access outside its network and integration with Oracle, ePOM, BizTalk, and Documentum for vendor, PO, and document data exchange.

Nam Technologies built the solution using an agile Scrum approach, delivering architectural design, detailed development, and functional support for a Microsoft MVC-based application with database-first code generation, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3, and reusable views/templates. Nam Technologies also handled database creation, stored procedures, SSIS packages, performance tuning, unit testing, bug fixing, and UAT, helping Black & Veatch modernize scope management and improve the efficiency and consistency of its bid and purchase order process.
