Black & Veatch partnered with Nam Technologies to help the organization address multiple health and human services technology initiatives, including electronic document management, telemedicine, tele-pharmacy, and e-prescribing. The core challenge was to create a more efficient, secure, enterprise approach for managing county case files and enabling access for state staff while reducing paper and improving turnaround times.

Nam Technologies proposed an Electronic Document Management Services (EDMS) approach tied to the existing FileNet environment, allowing counties to maintain their own document classes and security while granting state office staff only the access requested. Nam Technologies also supported planning for telemedicine using Polycom CMA, along with tele-pharmacy and e-prescribing capabilities to improve care coordination and support Meaningful Use goals. The case study does not provide specific numeric results, but the solution was intended to streamline document sharing, reduce paper handling, and speed review cycles.
