A NAKIVO Case Study
Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU), a Vermont school district serving about 1,100 PK-12 students, needed a faster, easier way to protect critical data across its virtualized IT environment. After moving from tape backups, OSSU turned to NAKIVO Backup & Replication to improve backup speed, simplify recovery, and better protect student and administrative information stored on VMs.
NAKIVO implemented backup on a Synology NAS-based appliance, enabling fast incremental VM backups, instant VM recovery, and granular file recovery. The results were significant: initial backups took 4 to 6 hours, incremental backups dropped to less than 30 minutes, and OSSU saved 1 to 3 hours each week by eliminating tape handling, while also gaining simpler administration and quicker restores with NAKIVO Backup & Replication.
