Unione Generale del Lavoro (UGL), an Italian trade union founded in 1950, needed a reliable, affordable way to protect an increasingly virtualized IT environment that includes VMware VMs for directory services, web services and network controllers. Their previous NAS-based backup tool was slow, hard to use and offered no disaster recovery, so UGL sought a fast, simple VM backup and replication solution that wouldn’t require extra hardware or costly licensing.
