A NAKIVO Case Study

Preview of the Radio Radio Case Study

NAKIVO Saves an Italian Radio Station 8 Hours a Week on Backup Management

Radio Radio is a Rome-based radio station founded in 1978 that broadcasts 24/7 across FM, web, apps and TV. Its IT environment includes three physical servers hosting 17 VMs on two NAS devices, handling critical office, audio and video data. The station’s previous backup approach was manual and unreliable, lacked VM/file-level recovery, and demanded excessive IT time—prompting a need for automated, fast and secure VM backup, replication and recovery.

Radio Radio deployed NAKIVO Backup & Replication (installed on Ubuntu) to enable forever-incremental VMware and Windows Server backups, VM replication to a secondary site, and instant file/VM recovery. Daily backups now complete in 30–60 minutes, replicas can be powered on quickly if needed, and the IT team saves about 8 hours per week on backup management—improving reliability and operational confidence.
