Genius, a science communication agency in Germany, needed a better way to back up and monitor a mixed virtualized IT environment across two sites. Its previous agent-based tools were hard to manage, required constant manual intervention, and made centralized monitoring difficult. The company wanted an OS-agnostic solution that could shorten backup windows and simplify backup management, so it turned to NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

NAKIVO implemented Backup & Replication on a Synology NAS, giving Genius centralized web-based management, easier upgrades, lower hypervisor resource usage, and faster incremental backups through VMware CBT and global data deduplication. As a result, Genius can back up all VMs nightly, retain at least 14 recovery points for key systems, and save 60% of the time previously spent on backup monitoring and maintenance.
