The Institute of Earth Sciences at Ilia State University needed a reliable way to protect critical seismic and research data running on a VMware environment with 6 physical servers and 15 virtual machines. Previously, the team relied on custom Python scripts for manual backups, which was time-consuming and difficult to scale as data volumes grew.
