NAKIVO Helps a Non-Profit Reduce RTO by 5 Hours

The European Respiratory Society (ERS), a Lausanne-based non-profit with nearly 35,000 members, needed a more reliable, easy-to-manage VM backup solution after their previous vendor discontinued its product. ERS runs 20 VMware VMs supporting users, ERP/SAP, CRM and web services, and required fast, stable backups, simple administration (no client installs) and integrated deduplication to keep critical data available for research and education.

After testing, ERS deployed NAKIVO Backup & Replication as a preconfigured VMware appliance, enabling fast, application-aware forever-incremental backups using Changed Block Tracking and simple web-based management. Instant VM Recovery cut RTO by about 5 hours, nightly backups move 4 TB in ~1.5 hours, global deduplication saved roughly 3 TB of disk space, and the solution proved easier to deploy and ~10% cheaper than the previous tool.
