A NAKIVO Case Study
Water Control and Improvement District No. 17 is a non-profit utility providing water and wastewater services in the Lake Travis area, Texas. As its infrastructure grew to seven physical sites and virtual machines running critical SCADA and billing data, the district needed a more reliable backup approach than its manual, time-consuming external-drive process. It turned to NAKIVO Backup & Replication for an automated, user-friendly VM backup and recovery solution.
NAKIVO implemented NAKIVO Backup & Replication on Synology NAS, giving WCID No. 17 faster backups, simpler management, and quick recovery capabilities, including VM Flash Boot. The district reports backing up servers in under 40 minutes, saving hours each day, reducing travel between sites, and eliminating downtime during recovery. NAKIVO also helped improve storage efficiency and allowed the organization to expand VM use with greater confidence in disaster recovery readiness.
