Oriental Institute of Technology, a private vocational college in New Taipei, faced mounting IT challenges as its VMware environment grew: backups were manual or tied closely to VMware Tools, verification was slow or manual, and full recovery of a ~2 TB MS SQL database could take up to 24 hours, forcing infrequent disaster-recovery drills.
