Pitaya, a leading Thai street food restaurant chain in France, faced challenges with inconsistent location success, uncertain revenue projections, and vulnerability to market fluctuations as it expanded its franchise network. To make more informed and reliable expansion decisions, the company turned to the vendor MyTraffic and its data product, Geoblink, to provide crucial insights for its site selection process.
Using MyTraffic's footfall data, Pitaya was able to analyze traffic intensity, consumption times, competition, and customer typology to build reliable revenue forecasts for potential new restaurant locations. As a result, 95% of their openings were confirmed using this data, with actual revenues consistently meeting or exceeding projections. The data-driven process also ensured the network's resilience, with no restaurant closures during the Covid-19 pandemic. This success supported the opening of 100+ restaurants and gave Pitaya the confidence to schedule a further 60 openings for 2021.
