A MySQL Case Study
Tralix, a Mexican e-marketing leader founded in 2001 that expanded into e-invoicing in 2005, faced a rapid scaling challenge as government rules moved invoices to electronic format and a major customer required batch processing of 600,000 invoices in under four hours. With a national mandate looming and only months to scale, Tralix needed an appliance-based, secure, zero-admin solution and strong SLAs to serve large enterprises.
Tralix chose MySQL Embedded on a purpose-built HP/Intel appliance, leveraging InnoDB tuning and MySQL replication for high availability and near-instant failover. The XSA appliance was delivered in four months, handled customers’ large datasets (over 5 TB across 118 tables of ~120M rows each), consistently processed 600,000 monthly invoices in under four hours, met SLAs, sped time to market, and lowered total cost of ownership.
