Polystar Monitors Telecom Networks Worldwide with Embedded MySQL

Polystar is a telecommunications vendor that provides real‑time service assurance and network performance monitoring to major operators such as T‑Mobile, Telefonica and Telenor. The company needed to capture and analyze every transmission as detailed XDR records to detect faults, bottlenecks, fraud and billing issues, while supporting fast, real‑time queries and large historical datasets (the Jupiter product can grow to tens of terabytes).

Polystar deployed a clustered solution using MySQL Embedded Server on preconfigured probe nodes and a Jupiter analytics tier, choosing MySQL for its stability, ease of tuning, small footprint and support for affordable hardware. The result is a high‑performance, zero‑administration system that continuously records thousands of XDRs per second, enables quick problem isolation (typically up to two weeks back), supports billing verification and scalable, cost‑effective analysis of massive data volumes.
