A MySQL Case Study
NetQoS provides performance-management products used by large enterprises to monitor and improve application delivery across complex networks. As customers adopted SOA, VoIP and MPLS, existing monitoring tools couldn't keep up: they rolled high-resolution NetFlow data into coarse summaries, relied on probe/SNMP approaches that strained networks, and produced slow reports that hindered troubleshooting and masked peak usage patterns.
NetQoS built ReporterAnalyzer with embedded MySQL and a distributed database architecture that stores one-minute granularity at the network edge and 15-minute historical data centrally, delivered as a plug‑and‑play appliance with zero DBA requirement. The solution handles very high NetFlow volumes (millions of records per hour per appliance), gives real-time and year‑long visibility for fast troubleshooting and security detection, reduces hardware and administration costs, and helped NetQoS win customers by delivering better information at lower total cost.
