TransMet, a transportation services provider for Montreal’s print media industry, faced an urgent need to replace its aging Roadnet-based route planning software after the license expired. Operations manager Peter Stuart led a move to build a custom routing solution that leverages the MyRouteOnline API to generate optimized routes directly from the company’s address database.

By integrating the MyRouteOnline REST/JSON API and deploying the system on January 1, 2020, TransMet automated routing for 10–12 drivers covering about 350 daily stops; manifests remained familiar to drivers and route results closely matched the old system. The change reduced routing work from nearly a full-time position to a few hours per week, retained on-the-fly driver flexibility, and was implemented quickly with strong developer and MyRouteOnline support.
