Online Route Planning for a Nonprofit to Reduce Hunger

Snack Pak 4 Kids (SP4KSA) is a San Antonio nonprofit that supplies weekend food packs to children facing chronic hunger. During summers and the COVID-19 school closures the organization needed to coordinate more than 40 volunteers to deliver 450 Snack Paks to 151 addresses across the city, creating routes for 21 delivery teams while keeping costs low and allowing group access and manual route refinement.

Using MyRouteOnline, SP4KSA imported addresses from Excel, planned and tweaked routes on the web, generated maps and directions for each team, and emailed instructions for smartphone navigation. The tool enabled 1,510 deliveries of 4,500 snack packs over a 10-week summer period in 2016, and remains in use for ongoing monthly deliveries—helping the nonprofit reliably get food to kids in need.
