Delivering Donated Goods for Thousands of People in Need

Houston Furniture Bank is a Houston nonprofit that collects donated furniture to furnish homes for people moving into affordable housing. After historically planning routes on a wall map, the organization was hit by a devastating 2015 fire that destroyed its building and trucks and put operations—and 13 jobs—at risk.

The team implemented MyRouteOnline and a simple workflow (Excel uploads plus visual notes via Paint) to create daily routes for two trucks (about five stops each). The tool restored operations, helped secure donated trucks and warehouse space, saved jobs, and improved fuel, mileage, and manpower efficiency—keeping the nonprofit financially viable and reliably serving thousands in need.
